Renovations plans disrupted by shower leak - time to call a plumber

Part of the magic of owning a home in Brisbane is the expectation that one day you might renovate. In the case for one of our clients recently we were happily quoting a new bathroom as part of the extension to build under their house. The project ground to a halt and Aptus Plumbing and Gas were called upon to take care of a problem that arose early in the project.

As it happened, the builder was measuring up the house and noticed a water leak from an upstairs shower and could hear the shower running upstairs. Obviously this is not great news for the project and definitely something that needs to be addressed before the renovations are started. What's more, the water damage to the plaster, framing and floor would lead to long term damage and vastly increase the risk of termite infestation. It's lucky that it was found when it was.

With one of our experienced plumbing team called in and the investigation found that it had given way through stress and age. It was of little surprise at the property was built circa 1990 when plastic water pipe had just started to be used ... and after so many years, age and movement of the timber framed house had taken it's toll.

It turned out to be rather simple to replace the section of water pipe and an inspection of the rest of the pipework was carried out to ensure that everything else was in order.
